Vision by Webster's definition means: the act or power of seeing or something supposedly seen by other than normal sight, as in a dream.

What vision means to GLM is to take the Lord's word and actions in our life and use Him as guidance to expose the enemy, teach God's Word, encourage and celebrate God's ultimate will for the family.

Terrianne and I met 19 years ago and have been married for 18 years. We have three children Amanda, 14, Annamarie, 9, and Michael, 6.

We would love to say that it has been utopia, but we like any married couple have had to overcome the devil and the sinful nature he can place on the human race.

In early 1994, Terrianne resigned from a very successful career due to a heavy burden upon her from God to stay at home and be with our daughter. The loss of income was significant and the decision was financially burdening for our family. A couple of months before resigning, Terri accepted Jesus Christ into her life. After being home for a few months, a friend asked Terri to join her at a woman's bible study and she plugged in from there. It was not until 1995 that, through patience and love from Terri, I accepted the Lord. At this point, God started training us for the eventual ministry of Giving Life to families.

Terrianne became a stay at home mom. No matter what obstacle Satan threw at us, we stayed steadfast by His Word. As Matthew 6:33 states, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

We were burdened with a large mortgage payment and tried to sell the house, but the house would not sell. Instead God blessed me with promotions and job opportunities that significantly increased my salary. We drove older cars that had no payments, no paint, and very high mileage. There were no lavish vacations and we shopped at Salvation Army, Goodwill or discount stores. There were times we did our grocery shopping at food banks. We continued to be steadfast and not break to the world nor let society tell us we needed to keep up with their standards.

In 1996 we had our second child and continued to press in to the Lord. I remember Annamarie at three-days old having severe reflux syndrome. She would hold her breath until she would turn blue and we had to lightly shake her to get her to breathe again. She grow out of the reflux at two years old and for the next few years Terrianne was home schooling the two girls. At this time we were plugged into youth ministry and adult care groups at our church. We also were a part of different organizations outside of our church and could see the Lord showing us the world/Satan pulling children away from their parents. Satan was stealing the joy that God had for them and spreading violence, selfishness, and a lack of respect for all, including themselves. Our hearts were saddened and we wanted to do something to change this trend. We didn't have much time, with young children and home schooling, to try and make a difference, or we thought not. Terri and I sat down and realized by seeking the Lord's guidance we could make a difference in several ways: by teaching by example; by providing love and spending more time with our children; and by providing leadership to our life and showing children what it means to be a Godly leader. We continued to live in this manner with the Lord's guidance and blessing.

In 2000 we had our third child, a son. During his birth the hospital gave Terrianne some pain medication which slowed Michael's breathing down to a very alarmingly shallow rate. As the doctor worked on Terrianne and the nurses frantically worked with Michael, Terri and I prayed out loud for Michael's breathing. Within two minutes, with constant prayer, Michael's breathing became regular.

The doctor was amazed by the faith we showed that God's ultimate will would be done and it was a great lesson of teaching by example and love, all in one.

Six years have passed since that day. We have had many challenges but none bigger than the gift the Lord has given to us. We have grown even deeper in His will for our family and His will for the families in this world. God has a vision for your family. He wants to name your children. He wants to make your communications between you and your family strong and straight. God wants you to ask, the word says "we have not because we ask not." He wants us to ask. God has more for us than we can ask or imagine. God will lovingly bless the work of your hands and your family's hands. Be encouraged today for the vision God has for your family.

May God bless you and your family.
